Can you take Rennies while on pred in Cornwall at mo and have been having heartburn today could it be a side effect or the lovely food I have never suffered from heartburn before only when pregnant I am on 30mg of pred got down to 20mg but have had to go up again stating reducing by 2mg every 3weeks as from next Sunday still waiting for my referall yo rheumi consultant
Absolutely no expert but know just where you are . . . I always carry Gaviscon Doubke Action as they really work. I know I'll be screamed st but I take two and if necessary another two. But honestly I've found it's better to not over do it first time.
I was prescribed Ranitidine to take alongside Pred when I started on it. You can buy it in Tesco or any Pharmacy.
I cant take the stomach meds but your gp should prescribe some for you. I have a peeled, sweet apple about 10 - 15 minutes before food and it stops all that acid.
Just a quick response (better late than never)! I find that if I am caught out with no medication and i get an acid attack, sips of ice cold water works a treat. I have no idea why but the releif is almost instant. I repeat this at regular intervals for about an hour. I now always keep small bottles of water in the fridge ready. Could do with a handbag sized fridge to take out with me! This also has the benefit of being free. Hope you find something that works for you soon.
