Hello, sorry to hear you are feeling unsure about the citalopram.

I can only say that it should help your symptoms while you are able to carry on with life.It helped me, and now 9 months on I am receiving counselling, returning to work and can see the tablet helped for a while, along with a positive outlook. I am now weaning off the tablet and can see it was a prop when I needed it most.

You have freedom of will to make your own life choices, but I know it is difficult when you feel anxious and depressed with life.

I did not gain weight as I ate healthily and commenced gym, yoga membership as I had no work for the last 9 months. On a good note at least you are choosing wethwr to take this or not, I just gulped it down at the time and didn-'t really care either way - but then I would have stuck my head in a gas oven if someone had said at the time!!LOL

If you really do not want to take, I agree you need to discuss your concerns with your GP, hope they are nice.

Good Luck and look forwards.

Hi there, can you give me info on how you are weaning off the tablets? I'm also trying to come off them after 6 years :yikes:

Hello

I did try to write this in once before but the moderators did not print it. I will try again under separate cover, in case they withhold again at least you can see I did try to reply!

Hello

I was on 20mgs at the time, so was advised to take 1 every other day. This was not any good as if I forgot to take 1 there would be a 2 day gap and I suffered side effects both physical and emotionally. Went back to Doc he said take 10mgs every day. This went OK, 2 months on he has now advised 10mgs every other day which seems ok so far.

I am sure that in time I may have to ride through some symptoms which if I have to I will, but then I don't want to take these anymore so I'm very determined to kick them.

That it not to say that they helped me a lot in the last year.

Good Luck if you are also "weaning" it is a bit of a weird one.

8)Just off to counselling session in 10 mins time - recommended,

Bye, all the bestx
