Hello!
since having my little girl 7 months ago i started to suffer with bad pain.
I got rushed into hospital in Nov 2020 due to being in agony and not breathing and throwing up! they told me i have loads of gall stones.
i have these awful attacks (i would rather give birth again!!) pain is a 12/10 in my chest and my breastbone and been taken in to hospital around 4 times! they last around 2-5 hours!
i have diclofenac and liquid morphine but that doesnt even help!! I am on a low fat diet too.
PLEASE PLEASE help me with what else i can try!
hi Charlotte,
I am so sorry you are experiencing this when you should be enjoying time with your little one. Gallbladder attacks are very painful and scary.
Eating low, or virtually no fat is important, as is a good awareness of what foods contain. Try and eat smaller portions at regular intervals and drink water. Cut out any soda.
Some people swear by apple cider vinegar, but for me that did not work. I found that Buscopan really helped, but if you are in the US I believe it is not available there. In the UK it is available to buy over the counter at s pharmacy.
Avoid things like gallbladder flushes as this can be dangerous.
Ultimately, the most important thing is for you to be referred to a surgeon to have the gallbladder removed. It is far better for you to have the surgery whilst the condition is uncomplicated. I am now almost one year post surgery and have not looked back as life has returned to normal and those horrible attacks are a dim and distant memory.
