I was diagnosed with Sma syndrome aka wikies syndrome years ago I had a deuodenojeuojenoostomy December 9,2012 and I am still in severe pain. Not as often but still have episodes of nausea severe pain knee to chest position with chills shaking unable to keep fluids or solids down for days. Weeks at a time some time. I have exhausted every doctor in ny it seems and long story short no one knows this disease to treat it! To these Drs it's not like treating a common flu it's rare and risky for them if they do the wrong thing. I need help anyone please does anyone know of a gastroenterologist familiar with superior mescenteric artery syndrome. I'm more than desperate. The best option I had was to go to mayo clinic in Minnesota but Theres a chance my insurance won't cover it. Please help!
I hope that you get the insurance coverage to go to the Mayo Clinic. They saved my husband's life and cost about the same as the gastroenterologist he was seeing in Salt Lake City!
Finally someone responds thank you so much I have New York insurance and they're giving me problems saying if I'm not there like on a trip and need to use the emergency room that they will cover. The rest they're not really answering.
