how long have u been in 40mg ?

8 months…It was going great until now

Hi Jesscox
Could something have triggered it off, have you perhaps accidently missed a dose or changed your med times? Hopefully it’s just a blip, its happened to others here.

message Katecogs. Shes wonderful and will direct you on the right path. I would advise, but not sure hiw to properly. Prayers you feel better

i would make an appointment with my gp as soon as they open. try to get an urgent one if they say they cant see you today.

whenever i miss a dose it usually doesn’t make a difference.I noticed the two times i upped my dose was around this month february.I find that a bit odd.The anxiety isnt as bad as it could be but the fact that ive had it for 4 weeks now is alarming

Thank you…Does she have an email?

Im waiting on my medical card to make an appointment.I feel like she’ll want to change meds and that scared me

not sure. should be able find her in some of these discussions. shes wonderful and caring

so you really think missing a dose doesnt make a difference ?hmmmm

who issues your prescription now? get in touch with them if you cant see your go

Hi Jesscox
Missing a dose or upping a dose makes a difference to me for sure. Perhaps that is what’s going on with you?

totally agreed with you lina.missing doses is not very smart.

i missed it twice cus i ran out,but the anixety had already started a week before. What do you guy advice i do? Its mostly my facing numbing throughtout the day and i then i get anxiety

Do others blips last this long?

Hi jesscox
I can only advise you with regard to my personal experience with citalopram. I think that’s what everyone here does, share personal experiences. You say you were doing great on 40mg for 8 months but then you didn’t take it for two days. It’s possible you started withdrawal symptoms and then start up symptoms when you went back on them. This happened to me when I stopped taking them for around 5 days. That was months ago and I haven’t leveled out yet. I’ve not had facial numbness though, I’m not saying it’s not the citalopram because 40 mg is high and I know I personally couldn’t tolerate 20mg. It’s not listed on the citalopram leaflet as a side effect as far as I can see but that doesn’t mean it is not a side effect, for you. Migraine is listed though and facial numbness is an aura symptom of migraine. Migraine can be brought on by anxiety and stress. A friend of mine has facial neuralgia and that causes numbness in the face. What I am trying to say is that there are many causes of facial numbness but whatever the cause I think it needs to be checked out.
If I were you at the very least I would speak to my pharmacist about the facial numbness for reassurance. Perhaps 40mg is too high now since you missed a couple of doses. Sometimes when you restart you have to make dose adjustments. Hopefully your pharmacist will be able to advise you on that until you are able to speak to your doctor. If you can telephone your doctors surgery though that would be my preferred choice, they may also be able to advise you in the interim period before seeing your doctor. If you are unable to do any of these, if it were me and my facial numbness was giving me cause for concern I would go to the hospital as a last resort.
These are my unprofessional opinions.
Sending my best wishes to you😊
