I'm 18 and have been with my boyfriend for 4 years, we have both been faithful and we are each others first everything. About 3 days after I last saw him, I noticed an awful pain down below and went to the doctors about it and was told I had a terrible urine infection. Later on I found some sores down below going round to my bum. I went back to the doctors and was swabbed and given anti viral tablets. I am awaiting the results but it seems pretty obvious that it's herpes. My boyfriend has no symptoms but is getting tested. I am in immense pain and haven't eaten since I found the sores as I am so distraught. I am confused, lost and scared about how this has happened. Any advice about relieving pain or even just to give me any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
I am currently going through my first ever out break. It started with what I thought was cystitis. Then a tear in my vagina. It had been 8 days now and the past few days have had my first blisters. I went back to the doctors and even went to my local GUM clinic. They also gave me the anti viral drug but couldn't tell me for sure. After my blisters appeared I went straight back to the doctors and finally she said... yes... it is HSV. Yet my swabs came back negative.
My advice is to go back as they do not always pick it up on swab tests. It's better for them to see it live. Also rest and eat well.
Have you any inflamed lumps in your groin?

Thank you for replying I'm glad to know I'm not alone in going through my first outbreak at the moment! Yes I have lumps in my groin and they are painful so I'm assuming they are glands x
