Let me give some background information as well .. I'm 20 years old, sexually active, with acne prone skin as well as a drier skin type especially in the winter as I tend to get chapped lips year round but especially bad in the winter.. last year I had something similar to this but around the corners of my mouth and were awful because they couldnt heal due to my mouth opening and causing the scab to break open again.. lately this has popped up which appeared at first to be a pimple (which I regrettably tried to pop causing the redness in the first photo) and I've been logging its progress for a couple days now and wondering if I should either make an appointment with my dermatologist or gynecologist? given that I'm afraid it might be herpes ? I also have tried to refrain from picking the dead skin off of it but each day it seems a new layer comes off which I end up peeling off

I'd also like to add that I have not seen any blistering of any kind or an ulcer ? it does ooze once the layer of skin/scabbing peels off but just slightly and it's clear.. and it only tingles once I've touched it or have it exposed to air (aka once a layer has come off)

Very hard to tell from that picture. I would monitor for a few days and see how it heals. I have learned from experience that it is best not to squeeze any spot that does not have a clear head.

Although I would expect herpes to blister more prominently and be more widespread.

heres an update image from today.. no oozing or anything except for times when I've peeled the dead skin off.. just pink in color and I'm seeing the doctor next week to see what it might beimage

In the first instance, why don't you go to the nearest sexual health clinic. They are well trained in such matters. Usually better than a GP and a specialist you go to may not be much better. Good luck.
