Okay, as far as wacky symptoms get, this probably going to sound pretty wacky but here goes.
For i think about a year now I've been having strange sensations in my left foot - most often tingling, fluttering, sometimes stabbing. That I can live with.
However what's peculiar is that these sensations migrate into my visual perception. I. E. It often feels like the nerves of my foot can be felt inside my head causing me difficulty throughout the day. I'm guessing either something is awry with the peripheral nerves in my left foot and/or with some part of my brain. Basically the fluttering and whatnot is constantly there - and its pulling a great deal of my attention, not by choice.
Since its difficult to logically describe how I perceive it I'm hoping someone might be able to suss out what I'm on about and enlighten me further.
I've asked to see a nerve specialist but because I'm in a bad domestic situation, on a very high dose of antidepressants and trying to be rehoused my GP is chalking it down to stress.
I get it but well, it's not confined to when I'm feeling on edge or worn out. Its basically all the time. The issue still persists in the short breaks I've taken away from things. Be it in front of the tele, going on public transport. Basically the sensations are constant but how dull or overwhelming they are varies a lot. Generally I find fatiguing activities worsen the symptoms (for me that's travel, sports and using computers).
Worth noting is that I'm often wanting to stare off aimlessly into the distance which pulls my attention towards these sensations. As far as I'm aware this is known as "zoning out"... but my body seems to be stuck in a loop of trying to pull my attention towards the tingling in my foot. It's maddening.
