Help Is this Herpes?

I just woke up with these canker sore like sores on my vagina. They are tender but it doesnt hurt when I pee

I do believe that this is herpes because this is basically identical to what mine looked like, I have g-hsv1… but nothing can be 100% certian unless swabbed. However, if it is herpes , dont freak out or anything, it honestly isnt bad.. i remember hoping it was something else, even anything else, before my results came back. I went through emotional ■■■■ when I got that phone call with the results, but now i realize how silly that was of me. Herpes typically causes no health problems other than it being a skin condition. Your first outbreak is by far the worse one you will have and it starts with just a couple sores before it multiplies. I would go to a clinic asap to get antivirals to prevent that from happening.. please feel free to reach out if you need anything or have any questions!

Hey I have a question for you. You said you’ve been tested. Did you get a blood test or a culture? I want to go get tested for herpes and i dont want a false negative so i want to know what type of test to do

if you have any visable sores or blisters definitely get a swab. That is the only way to guarentee which type you have in that location. If you dont get it swabbed with in the first couple days of them appearing, it could also be false negative because they could have healed too much already.. Blood testing is also a reliable test and good for if you just want to know if the virus is in your body. But it wont show positive results unless you have had the virus for a while, and it also wont tell you the site of the infection. So testing is based on circumstance and herpes can sometimes be a tricky thing to get a positive on

oooo okay thanks! really helpful

how long should one wait for a conclusive test

what is the difference between herpes 1 and herpes 2?

herpes 1 is usually oral herpes on the mouth. herpes 2 is the genitals.

Yes this is the standard, but you can get type 1 on your genitals too, like i did.. its actually pretty common in societies that are into oral sex. Type 2 on the mouth is also possible, but much more rare!

For blood test: It depends on the viral load that your body was exposed to, and how quickly your body creates antibodies against it. For some people it can take only a couple of weeks, but I have read that it takes up to 6 months to show up in blood sometimes. I would wait at least 2 months and if that is negative you can try again a few months later
