HELP ME PLEASE! There is a white sore at the base of my glans. What it could be?(PICS ATTACHED)

Hello All

I have been facing a lot of issues with my penis lately. I have been facing red spots on glans and red foreskin for about 3 months now. Tried a lot of things but very small to no improvement. I have been diagnosed with UTI also due to E.coli.

I have taken medication for UTI too but still i am facing irritation after urination for 10-15 minutes and it doesn't seem to be going away.

i AM GETTING REALLY HOPELESS. PLEASE HELP ME!

It looks very minor to me. Unless it is painful, what's the problem! In my experience, these things come and go.If it was inside your mouth / behind the lip would you be concerned?

I sympathise more with  the uti. Did your doctor send a urine sample to the lab to check on which antibiotic would work best? These bugs are sometimes resistant, and a second antibiotic may be needed instead. If no improvement by the time you finish the course, tell your doctor. You could also show them your photos. I'm pretty sure they will be able to reassure you there's not much to worry about..

Thank You Pepasan

If it would have been in mouth i wouldn't have worried but this happened for the first time on penis.

Yes i had urine culture again earlier and urologist suggested me a 5 days course of Amikacin 500 mg injections. I had completed the course 5 days back and went for urine culture again. But i still face irritation after urination. I don't feel any discomfort while urination. My results will arrive on Saturday. I will share results here too. I will consult the urologist once i get results.

My foreskin redness is not going away for 3 months now. I am really concerned about it.

Chances are you just need the right antibiotics for a longer course of treatment of the UTI. I don't know what would be making your foreskin red, - maybe it's inflamed, but worrying won't help and is it so bad anyway? Your doctor could probably recommend a cream to apply.

The foreskin is red from 3 month with red dots on the Glans. The redness varies time to time. I am attaching the pics below.

I had unprotected oral and protected anal sex with a friend around 3 months ago. The symptoms started appearing 10 days after the encounter. Initially there was white discharge under the foreskin.

After maintaining cleanliness for a week and taking doxy and itraconazole for 20 days the white discharge went away but redness persisted. I also took Diflucan caps also for a week and redness reduced a bit but after stopping the dosage, it is same as earlier.

It is really really frustrating that after all the medicines and all there is not much improvement. I also applied onabet and coconut oil stretching a period of 3 months till now.

Your penis looks perfectly normal to me. I think it's red because you have good blood supply - stop worrying!

Hi Pepasan,

It didn't used to be red like this prior to my sexual encounter sir. Also the sexual encounter was my first (i was virgin before that).

Why this sudden change in blood supply?

Also it is red at some places while normal at other place. Are the red dots on glans normal? i never had them before.

Skin changes from time to time - there really doesn't seem anything wrong as far as I can tell. I'm not a doctor.

Yes may be you  are right Sir. It is a great relief to hear that. Thank you so much for the feedback.

Does it looks like HSV-1 on the foreskin as i have been tested positive for it on IGG.

I have been tested HSV-2 negative IGG and IMM two months after sexual contact. Is their any chances of false HSV-2 negative given the duration after sexual contact as 2 months?

Also is there any chance it looks like HPV? or Psoriasis?

I'm sorry I don't have experience with these.

Thank you sir, Anyways.

Hi, you seem to have tried a whole load of medication here and what I think you need to do is find out exactly what your condition is AND get the precisely CORRECT treatment to sort it out once and for all.  If you can, go and see the correct medical professional - 3 months is too long for the condition to persist!!!

You say you have been diagnosed with various conditions and been to see a urologist but I wonder if you have been to a SEXUAL HEALTH specialist?  You need to get this sorted properly ... I also see you have tried various remedies, but, I wonder whether you are / have used them 100% correctly to cure the issues you have.  Specifically with the condition(s) on your penis, you need to combine excellent hygiene practices (not just washing and drying the penis) along with the taking the medication correctly.

Are you in the UK I wonder?

The last doc I saw is a sexual health specialist. I am using medication as per the doctor's prescription.

Yes I know that these issues should not strech that long, that's why I am worried in the first place.

Right now I am waiting for the test results.

I am maintaining proper hygiene too.

It really make me tired now. Still I hope that I will be alright.

I am from outside UK by the way.

The white ulcer cleared on its own now.

But the red foreskin and red dots on glans still persists.

Anyone have any opinion?

Can it be HSV-1 Or HPV or psoriasis?

Or it's just balanitis?

Okay, it sounds like you are making some progress here.  When I asked about the Sexual Health specialist, what I am getting at is continuity (you seeing the same person as the progression of the conditions develop towards being cured) of medical care that is the most import thing in achieving a final cure!

Again, like Pepesan, I am not a medical professional / doctor - this is why you need to continue seeing the Sexual Health specialist, who can either re-assure you about the tests you have had and the other conditions you think you may have (e.g. HSV-1 or HPV) AND if necessary, organise the necessary additional tests and potential medication / treatment should anything prove to be a positive result.

What we can do is suggest what to do if you have the less problematic conditions such as psoriasis or balanitis.  For whichever condition you have you must maintain the highest possible hygiene standards: wash with water only after each time you urinate and dry ALL the skin of you penis 100%.  When you take a shower draw the foreskin / skin of the shaft of the penis forward to protect the head and surrounding skin at the tip of the penis from soap / shower gel / hair shampoo, etc, from irritating the skin even further.  Change underpants / briefs etc. daily and make sure these items are washed in non-biological soap powder (here we have "natural" soap flakes in both flakes themselves, and liquid form, so you can use it in a mashing machine too!).  NEVER spray deodorant or any form of bodily deodorizer on the LOWER half of your body.  If you do a sport, or do regular gym workouts you MUST get rid of the build-up of sweat in that area of your body - again, shower & 100% dry each time.  Also, is there a time during the day when you naturally sweat a lot? - if you live in a hot climate, it is difficult to stop the build-up of sweat in your groin region!  With excellent hygiene practices you can overcome the affects of most of this!!!!

AS YOU have suggested yourself, what you may have remaining is a form of psoriasis or balanitis: check out the specific information on THIS web site on them - the videos are brief but very informative - here are the links to the Balanitis pages AND there is also the link to the Psoriasis details on the site from there too.  YOU SHOULD at least read ALL the details on these two pages at least: -

Good luck - W.D.

Thank you for the information and your experience.

It is really difficult for me to clean it everytime i urinate because of the office work I do.

I will go to doctor as soon as I get the reports regarding chymaldiya, gonoreha and syphills.

What I have observed is that the condition of my penis is getting bad week after week. I have started hating sex altogether now. I didn't had this much knowledge about Cleaning and disease caused even by skin to skin contact or with saliva.

I request all not to have sex with strangers Because it will end in long regrets like me.

The thing that bothers me is that doctors take situation very lightly and also the appearance of glans and foreskin varies throughout the day. Sometimes it is severe and sometimes it is mild. Almost all doctors think that redness is not much and it's mild. But whenever I wash it with just hot water it flares up and stays that way throughout the day. It becomes a bit less in the evening. The issue is with the burning sensation after urination I am facing. I don't know weather it is due to E.coli. or due to any skin condition of the glans and foreskin.

I really miss the days when I was healthy and everyday I wish I never engaged in casual sex. It seems like an endless agony.

You say you work in an office: i.) I wonder if you drink lots of coffee throughout the day?  If you do, try and vary the types of liquids you drink during the day!  ii.)  Offices are often WONDERFUL social environments to start building real and appropriate relationships with the kinds of people you are attracted to.  I would suggest it is better to think of people you are not directly working with, may be in another office, you may regularly meet certain people going to work, at lunch times, in local shops.  I think you may find it more satisfying than risky sexual relationships with strangers.

I think you are realising the real issues with sex with strangers - YOU need to draw YOUR own conclusions on this and act accordingly in future.  This is why it is best to build up a relationship - get to know people before you start having sex with them is the safest, and more rewarding approach!

When washing your penis, cool to warm water NEVER HOT!  If you cannot wash, go in a toilet cubicle and use the toilet paper to make sure you are 100% dry.  Then when you can, wash properly with warm water.

Think when you are in a shower, if you like a really hot shower, to protect the skin at the end of your penis (and, protect from soap / shower gel / hair shampoo etc that I have already mentioned).

At home / where you are staying, you should have a towel that YOU ONLY use to dry your penis.  Change the towel regularly, and wash it in non-biological washing powder, or if you do your own washing machine wash, try getting liquid soap flakes to ENSURE you do the towels, also do your underpants / briefs / undershorts at the same time.

When you go to get your test results mention the burning sensation as you may have a urinary tract infection - you certainly still have something causing a considerable irritation to your penis!

As you say yourself: “I miss the days when I was healthy” - you need to learn from the process you have been through due to the casual sex, put this in your past - become fully health again, and I would suggest the best way to avoid STD / STI conditions is learn how to develop more satisfying, longer-term relationships with people you can trust!

Good Luck ……
