Hello all, I am dealing with some issues lately where I feel like my whole world is falling apart. I can't tell if the anxiety causing me to feel this way or if I am really sick. Lately I have been feeling very nauseous and tired and some dizziness. I can feel at times my chest starts to feel very uncomfortable as if I'm freaking out about something. I sometime try to make myself believe that I have an illness but I have had every test run by my doctor and they can't find anything. My doc thought it could be anxiety driven. She started me on Zoloft yesterday. My question is can these symptoms be brought on by anxiety/depression? And am I'm going to have to be patient and not expect my life to change for a bit?

Hi Amanda you have the symptoms of anxiety. The physical symptoms of anxiety are very real so you do feel everything you have mentioned as well as the mental problems. As well as medication you should as to be referred for counseling to help you manage your anxiety. You can also help yourself by learning relaxation techniques which you can get on YouTube. All antidepressants take 6 to 8 weeks to stabilise in your system and they do make you feel worse before they make you feel better so don't panic and stop them.Give them a chance many people with anxiety stop taking them because they think they are making them worse just perceiver and give them a chance.

Thank you for your response. I honestly don't know how to function most days. My mind is all over the place. I felt as though I might be experiencing something else as it was hard to say for sure this was the reason. Yes my GP did recommend some counseling and I plan on taking advantage of that also. I feel talking about some of this will help me get through it. I just want to feel normal again. It's hard waking up in the morning I don't even want to get out of bed. It's very paralizing what it can do to you.

It is a very crippling illness however nothing stays the same so try to take it one day at a time.Try to get up and keep your mind occupied as much as you can. Also a bit of exercise is good walking etc and eating properly.Try a bit of relaxation and see if you can start counseling as soon as possible.Keep your chin up.

I just want to feel better, I can't eat I am so nauseous most of the day. Gotta force food down. I feel as though something else is wrong and I can't get past it. I just want someone to tell me what is wrong. I feel like I'm dying here 😔 And it's all day every day.

I assume you have been checked for any underlying illness and you have got the all clear.Anxiety is very debilitating illness and that is why it is severe people think they have a serious physical illness. The physical symptoms are very real trust me however they are due to fear causing adrenaline to pump round the body. You have to stop looking for a physical cause and address the anxiety.Only then will you begin to recover

Yes I have had my CBC drawn three times in a month and all came back perfect. I am on day 2 of zolof and today has been a bad day. I can't calm my mind down, which in turn makes me feel physically ill. I have gone to my family doctor I think about 5 times since the beginning of June. Hopefully this is what gets me on the path to feeling better.

Hi , know how u feel , not getting a minutes peace from your anxious worrying head, feeling nauseous, the physical symptoms are bad enough, but anxiety and worrying about meds is possibly worse in my opinion, glad your looking at counciling, keep busy(know it's hard , you just want to curl up, feeling awful inside but time seems to go so slow when worrying) talk to someone close or here awhere people understand. If you can't force food down try milkshakes, bananas, yoghurt, until you feel better, meds should start working but as already stressed may feel more anxious in meantime, but this is normal, this drove me crazy as I had no one to ask for advice. Thank goodness you're able to post here and get a little reasurance, great people here with tips on self help, meditation, relaxation arc, hope you start feeling better soon ❤️
