Hi I started celexa on 10mil on NOV 18 for depression and anxiety and had very bad side effects of anxiety, so my doctor decreased it to 5 mil. He advised that i stay at this low dose for two months before increasing because he thinks i am sensitive to medication. Tomorrow will be week 4 for me and i am still having a lot of anxiety. Should I continue on the 5 or talk to my doctor to see if its time to increase the dose? Also if i increase will i once again have the very bad side effects of increased anxiety?
increasing or decreasing doses will cause you to have side effects and will magnified any anxiety you have lurking.try to stay on one dose .increases doesnt necessarily mean a quick fix.these meds take along time to work and since you are sensitive to meds why up your dose?
thank you for the replay, i was just thinking that maybe the anxiety would get better with an increase. I am just desperate to try and get some type of relief from the anxiety. I will stick with this dose and hope that it will get better.
and i will say it again.ask your doctor for a short term benzo .it will relieve your anxiety tremendously while you are stabilizing on the celexa.
