Is there anyone else out there that was diagnosed after age 50? I didn't have any symptoms until I was 55 and was diagnosed by MRI in June. My symptoms are headache and nausea. I get sick with no warning and my daughter is getting married in a week and a half.. I need something to help me so I can make it through the day. I am only taking an anti inflammatory drug (meloxicam) right now. I did take 3 days of Dexamethasone and that worked for the 3 days I took it. What has worked for anyone else? Any advice would be appreciated!
Sounds silly, but what really helps me is seabands. It's just two wrist-band like bracelets. They're originally for motion sickness. I wear them all day and more often than not, it completely eliminates my nausea! You can get them at Target. (Link below)
Hi Wendy I was diagnosed at age 50 had the surgery this July my symptoms were severe headaches along with other things the headaches did not make me nauseated but they would put me in bed I took diazepam at night for the muscle spasms in my neck which is why I think I had the headaches I did get to the point were I would take a half during the day to help ease the headaches if I take a whole it puts me to sleep but they did help not a cure but it helped until I was able to have surgery. I hope you can find something that helps to get you through the wedding.

Hi Wendy's I suffer from nausea every morning, I had decompression surgery 3yrs ago, it has eased the pressure headaches but has left me with dizziness and nausea first thing.. I take an antisickness drug and I'm ok rest of day.. They gave me 3 different ones to take but I'm on one now, Ondansetron 4mg.. Have a word with your Dr to see if can prescribe anything.. Hope you have a fab day xx
That actually sounds like a good idea, I will try that as it is bit like a motion sickness or some days like vertigo as I'm very dizzy..
Thank yo, I will try that!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Hi WEndy, The Specialists put me on Topomax, Sumatriptan, and Rizatriptan...I was on these for about a year and they really did not do much for me. Until my Neurologist recommended MigreLief and Multivitamin B complex and Tumeric. These can be found at your local health store or Amazon. I also take Ginger capsules or drink Ginger tea whenever I feel nauseous. So far this is helping me get by. I have not gotten my head decompressed yet. I'm a chicken to have it done...but I know soon I will have to get it done if I want a normal life. Being in pain everyday sucks and not being able to do the things you enjoy also sucks.
Try not to stress, I know that is hard but It makes The situation a lot worse, the tension aggravates the stomach, then making you sick which then gives you a worse headache. These are my symptoms to a tea, I find getting lots of rest and deep breaths is a great help, positive thinking does wonders. It doesn't get rid of them, enjoy the day and good luck
Hi Wendy,
When I was feeling really bad to attend the wedding and waited for my decompression, my health care professionals prescibed me Topiramate and Bethahistine..that stopped me getting headache and dizzyness but after 2 weeks taking it..I had to titrated up to higher dose...and up and up until I have got surgery..now I free of drug.
