Hi I have been suffering from panic attacks and anxiety since mid last year recently it's got that bad that the last three weeks I've been off work, thing is I still don't feel any better I still feel detached , dizzy, spaced out and off balance pretty much every day, I am taking settaline and the doctor had signed me off work until next week. I have had an assessment and am waiting to start coinciding.
I just don't know what to do because I feel like I'm getting no better .
Advice please
Hi Anxiety is horrid. Please go & visit your local health food shop. Rescue remedy & kalms are very good.Have a Aromatherapy massage & Reflexology session too.Indian head massage too all great for stress.regards Amanda
I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's not easy but serious well done for trying to get through this. How long have you been on sertraline for and what dose? Are you getting out the house much now you're off work? It's going to be a long process but you're on the right track x
Thank you for replying to me 😊
I haven't been out of the house much because I panic and feel so off balance, I'm ment to be back at work next week but I just don't know what to do I'm on 50mg of settaline and have been on them for about 3 weeks now
Hey, I'm sorry you're going through this but you're definitely NOT alone and I have definitely been right where you are. I spent a long time off work from weird spacey detached and foggy feeling but the more I focused on it the bigger this feeling got.. please try and get back to work, taking your focus elsewhere may help, also have you thought about exercise this may help too. Could it be the meds? Anxiety does this to me all the time, but the more I focus on it the bigger it grows and the worse it seems to get. The stress hormone Cortisol can also give these effects to the body when it is over worked, you'll be okay I promise. This is all anxiety and soon the anxiety will shift elsewhere and you'll notice the symptoms fade, I hope you get back to work and find some relief. Mindfulness and meditation can go a long way if you commit to it, as I said anxiety grows when you focus on it as hard as it is try and keep busy and know you are okay. Xx
No problem at all! Okay, well it's probably best to start trying to get out a little bit, I know it's scary but just take it step by step. Go with a friend/family member/significant other, just to the shops or something or just to go for a walk. Don't pressure yourself, give yourself time. The sertraline can take a while to kick in so be patient with yourself, and keep your GP updated x
