Hi so this is my first time using this! so my bf and i had protected sex on March 25th, and we used a condom and he pulled out and came INSIDE the condom. There were no leaks or tears. We checked. Now, i thought i got my period on the 30th of March, but it was pretty light and only lasted 3 days, but the tampon was kinda full with dark blood i think but i had 0 PMS symptoms at all!! Now my period was supposed to come on April 3rd, but i thought the other thing was my period. So is there anyway i could be pregnant? i’m positive that no sperm got inside but the days line up so perfect for the implantation bleeding, which is 2-3 days before expected period. i took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. I plan to take one friday morning as my official answer, is that too early? pls help i’m stressed and cant be pregnant!!
Hi, Tessa-
If you have had UNprotected sex, or if the condom would have broken, then I would be very concerned. There is absolutely no way to know or tell if you are pregnant without a pregnancy test. BUT--with that being said, you have to wait about a week before you are supposed to get your next period to take a test at home. So if you are supposed to get it on the 15th of the month after you had sex, take an at home or physician-administered test around the 7th of the month. I hope that makes sense. It seems unlikely that you would be pregnant, but a test is the only way to know. I can tell that you may be rather young (in your teens), but you can still go to a planned parenthood or a walk-in clinic (Walgreens Clinic) for example, without needing your parents permission. Also, have the talk with your mom (or other guardians), about birth control. You can also get that for free at planned parenthood if need be. Just be honest about needing birth control if you feel like you do. Just because you tell her you would like to explore that option, it does not have to mean that you admit to her about having sex if that makes you uncomfortable. Birth control can also help with bad acne, painful or heavy periods, etc. It is important to speak with your doctor AND your mother about these things openly. If you take extra precaution (not just a condom) next time, then you will never have to worry like this again. There is also something called Plan B, an emergency contraceptive. If you go to the local drugstore (Walgreens, Kroger, Walmart) then you can purchase this for around $40. It prevents pregnancy pretty effectively, but ONLY if it is taken within 3 days of sex. So, it is too late to take it now, but this is good to know about. I do not promote hiding things from your parents, but every situation is different. You most likely had a light period because you are stressed out.
Well wishes. Ask any other questions if you need to.
