Help please? What could this be?

I am seeing an oral surgeon in May for this, but I'd like to see if anybody can tell what it is, just because I'm panicking a bit.

Started out as inflamed tastebud I guess, and now it's this. Doesn't hurt unless I bite on it accidentally.

It looks like a white spot that can be due to many reasons, like infectious reaction or  burning beverage

Check out with your doctor.

Does look like a swollen taste bud or buds. Can happen from trauma like burnt tongue, scratch, bitten, over brushed. Hope you get a definitive answer/diagnosis
