1st of all please sorry for my grammar mistakes, as I'm from Macedonia. So 2 months ago I fell of a enduro bike and I impacted with my left knee. Then it got swollowed a little bit and I was sure that I had flud in my knee and so said the doctor..but 2 weeks ago i was at another (better) hospital with better doctors and there the doctor said to me that I don't have any fluid and that my knee is swollen from the impact and that it needs time to recover. So now I have no idea what to do.By the way I can strech my leg all the way as well bending it all the way.Sometimes I fell pain on the right side of my left knee which I think it is the collateral ligament other than that nothing, it's just remains swollen. Please help me the doctors here in my country sucks.
Hi bojanc!
Did you have X-RAYS done? You may have injured your knee cap and could have bone fragments floating around in there.
Swelling usually indicates something isn't going well OR healing is trying to take place.
It's a good sign that you can bend and straighten your leg.
Do you have a fever? Check about this because you don't want any infection to set in!
We all need to KEEP ASKING questions and be persistent when we KNOW something isn't quite right.
I hope you will be feeling better soon!
Hi Bojanc,
Your English is very good so no apologies are necessary. What kind of pain killers do you have access to? You need anti inflammatory ones which will help reduce your swelling. You could also use a bag of ice cubes on the knee but be careful of the hard corners, best if you can crush the ice first. Or a bag of frozen peas would do the same thing. Ice for about 15-20 minutes at a time. Keep your leg raised and try not to put your body weight on it. It is a good sign you have good range of movement in the knee so hopefully you haven't done too much damage.
Good luck but have patience.

hello bojan,
i believe any collateral damage happens only if you twist your knee. So, only falling on it wouldn't make it a collateral damage. Also, it happened to me before. i got hit very hard in the knee and it was swollen for a long time and i couldn't walk at all in the beginning. Still do an x-ray to see if it is broken. If you can afford mri, do that too b/c it shows ligaments and x-rays only show bones.
i think and hope it is only a swelling, which could last 3 weeks i believe
I've done x-ray there is nothing broken.I can move my leg normaly except that the knee is swollen a little. It's been 3 months since the accident.
Thank you all for the replys
