I feel like I am losing it. I went to the cardiologist a few days ago now Im being sent to pulmunarist, on top of that my sister's passing has been hard. I went to dr yesterday bloodwork say thyroid is overactive. She gave me biodentical progesterone to take at night and a new anxiety med. I had NO palpitations or anxiety yesterday at all. I took the progesterone pill last night and the anxiety this morning
I cant stop shaking and body trembling all over with the heart palpitations. i think the progesterone and the prescription for anxiety brought it on really bad. I told her that tbe natural progesterone tends to make my palpitations and anxiety worse. I am freaking out about the fluid they found on lining of lungs. I was fine until i took the beta blocker last week. My chest is hurting it feels like something in my chest and throat. I really believe the beta blocker somehow caused fluid on my lungs. My body feels so weak, especially the legs. I cant sleep at night because of the discomfort and breathing. I won't be attending the funeral because i feel its too much for me. Oh God help me...!
Hello Mary,
First, I am so very sorry about the loss of your sister. No doubt the stress of losing your sister is significantly contributing to all of your metal and physical distress right now. It’s hard enough to go through peri/menopause and deal with all of the horrible symptoms, let alone deal with the stress and anxiety of losing a loved one.
Please know you’re not alone. It is very important for you to try to take care of you and try to take it day by day, even hour by hour if you have to. You will get to the bottom of these issues (if you feel like a med is making you feel worse please tell your GP/Specialist so that they can work with you to find a more appropriate solution) and hopefully you will start to feel a little better soon. Please remember you are not alone! I understand your stress and I’m so sorry you are going through this, but I want you to know I’m praying for you and hoping that you start to feel better very soon.
Please keep me posted on your progress. Again, my sincerest condolences. All my best and hugs—Sarah
The beta blocker is a good medicine if your thyroid is overactive. It will help protect your heart and block the affect of your excess thyroid hormone. Excess thyroid hormone in the body will cause your heart to beat too rapidly and cause palpitations. An overactive thyroid also will increase your anxiety... and so does perimenopause. Sorry Mary, this is all lot to take at once! I had an overactive thyroid and eventually had to have it removed. The doctors need to figure out why it is overactive in addition to the fluid on your lungs. I used beta blockers and they made me feel terrible too. I eventually took anti-thyroid medicine instead. -hugs Rachel
Thanks Rachel. The doctor did mention that thyroid are usually affected by perimenopuse , in addition she thinks its coming from my adrenal glands being depleted. I told her that is exactly what my herbalist keeps telling me, and she says she think he may be right. I think my fluid buildup came from tbe beta blocker . I researched it and beta blockers tend to cause pleural effusion (fluid build-up). Also, the thyroid can do it too. She didnt want to give me thyroid meds because she said it may make it worse so that is why she chose the progesterone instead, which only heighted my anxiety.
