Hi Julie. Have you asked your dr how you should taper? I just came off mirtazapine 4 days ago. I was on it for about 4 months on different doses. I can only tell you what worked well for me. I went from 30 (was on that dose for about 2 weeks), down to 22.5 for a week, then down to 15 for a week, then 7.5 for a week and then 3.75 for 4-5 days and then stopped. I really havent had any problems, except for a little nausea and added anxiety. I was off the mirtazapine for a day before I switched to a new antidepressant. I know how scary it can be when reading all of the terrible things about withdrawaling, but I was fine. I hope this helps you a little bit.

it depends, we are all so different and experience side effects both great and small. My advice would be, 30mg to 22mg, leave it at least 10 days because a lot of people do not show side effects until this time due to its long life.
If you feel good afterwards then drop to 15mg tablets (then buy a pill cutter) so your splits are even.
drop a quarter every week if you can, you may be one of the lucky ones. You will know if its too quick as the pain is awful, if this happens go back to the last dose you were ok on and then do it even slower. I hated how long it took me to get off this, I too was only on it a short while, but that made no difference for me. Good luck
