I have had problems with my back since 2006 i pulled 2 discs then in 2010 the same thing happened!! I had mri scans and was told it was my L5 and L? i cant remember. Then i was told i have sciatica i was on strong medication and kept it under control until Feb 3rd 2016 i started getting a burning pain in my lower back and it felt like someone was pulling my pelvis apart!! I went to my gp who said it was sciatica and i just went with it anyway i have been back and forth to the GP and been referred for another MRI scan. I still have the pain and since weds its gotten alot worse burning in my lower back and hips then ill get pains in random areas off my legs and expierience cold feet and hands also the pain goes in my thights and legs but not in my buttocks. The pain is getting unbearable i dont know what to do. Any ideas

Get a referral to an orthopedic doctor.  I had severe sciatic pain a few years ago and had been going to a chiropractor that wasn't helping.  I finally couldn't stand it anymore after laying across a footstool to sleep every night!    I made my own appointment without the referral.  You might check with your insurance first to see if you have to be pre-authorized.  Good luck!

Have you got any tingling and numbness in your feet or toes ? I have l5 pain i have si joint pain in my hips

I get numbness in my toes at certain times and sometimes i get numbness in my thighs when i am sleeping so i move to my other side its been ongoing now since feb and last few days the pain is bad i have my scan on tuesday.

Hiya Sandra it's called radiated pain have you tried a tens machine because pain just takes over then we just live and breath it and it takes over what pain meds are you on I take tramadol that makes me sleepy naproxen makes me more assertive ibuprofen takin amitriptyline for muscle spasms had 2 caudal epidurals physio pain management the list just goes on I have a burning pain in my backside too it feels like I'm sitting on a bees nest at times
