so, I’m also positive that my meds have stopped working at this point. Anyway, I’ve been having chest pains all day today and I’m really worried. Let me start by going back a bit. Maybe a month ago, I was having pretty bad chest pains. They were like a burning pain. It wasn’t unbearable but they were pretty bad. They would come and go all throughout the day, and it seemed to happen when I thought about it, and went away when I stopped thinking about it. Anyway, it took about a week for them to finally go away for good. And then as soon as they stopped, I started having on and off shortness of breath. Again, went away when I stopped thinking about it. They went away after TWO weeks, came back, went away again, and it’s still here but not as severe. I do notice that when I go into a full on panic attack, it’s really hard to breathe, and I get back and chest pains, and one arm loses feeling. Today, I’ve been having a dull ache towards the right side of my chest, and it goes away when I’m not thinking about it. I had SEVERAL tests ran on my heart, but they were all done in February. Do you think I’m okay since I had it checked this year?? Does this all sound like anxiety??? Please help me I’m so scared. I’m 15, healthy, never smoked or drank, but I’m a little overweight which I think is because my medicine made me gain lots of weight, and I don’t have a great diet.
I forgot to mention that all of my tests came back normal, and I’ve had several blood test done to rule out anything causing my anxiety and depression
This is exactly what I go through when my anxiety is out of control. My arm or arms go numb, my chest and back hurts, sometimes my back shakes, I can't breathe, I can get extremely hot, and my eye sight gets horrible. I hate it! But I have also had testing that came back normal and I know now that this is just me "acting up". During these times I try to keep my surroundings quiet, wear the most comfortable clothes, find a smell that relaxes me like an herbal roll on or incense, drink Holy Basil tea and try to relax myself. This does not always help and I may need to turn to medication. You may be right to assume your medication is no longer working. Definitely follow up with your doctor and ask if they agree with changing your medication. I wish you luck!
what medications are you taking? Also do you take any herbal supplements?
I’m on mirtazipine 30mg, I’ve been on it for two months. I think I might just need a higher dose. Also, no I haven’t tried any herbal supplements
Do you feel the burning pain in your lungs or is it more like indigestion pain or heartburn?
When I had it the first time, it was like a burning in the middle of my chest, but now whenever I think about my breathing sometimes there’s a slight burn in lungs I guess, but goes away
