Hi. I had a hemmroidectomy in May. I cannot get the area to heal up. I have been back to the Dr so many times. She says I should be better by now. I am getting discouraged. Anybody else been this long???
Kathryn, I'm so sorry. I know that it's miserable and I wish that I had better news. I had mine stapled last August and thought that I would lose my mind with the pain and length of time. At around ten months, I was thankful that I had it done. My life revolved around my BMs. There was always an urgency when I had to go and pain afterward. I got through it with a limited work (self employed) and social schedule, a lot of baths, ibuprofen, ice packs and a periodic pain pill. I hate to say it but "hang in there"...it does get better.
It’s been about four months for you. Although long it still falls into the range I have read about.
Keep area super clean. Use creams or ointment. I found that Vaseline with Cocoa Butter is excellent to promote healing.
What does doctor say? Just that you are slow healing? Or something else?
Can you be a bit more specific? What is still hurting and where?
