I had my gallbladder removed on Valentine’s Day. I am feeling worst since my surgery, removal of my gallbladder. I’m throwing up multiple times a day. Also have never ending coughing. The doctor’s did give me medicine. To help with my throwing up, didn’t help at all. I’m extremely miserable person right now. What I should do or what I should try?
Your symptoms do not sound normal since having your gallbladder out. Did you check back with your surgeon to tell him/her what is going on? Are you on a LOW FAT diet? Keep a food diary and in the meantime I suggest you eat foods with NO saturated fat or trans fat. A bland diet would be a good idea for a while to see if the vomiting eases up. It could be that what you are eating is causing the problem. The coughing could be from reflux…do you have that? Do you have asthma? Good luck!
Yes I told my doctor at my follow up appointment. That I throwing up everything I take in. Like water, crackers, gelatin. I even went to the ER. They couldn’t find anything wrong with me either.
I’m curious. Did your doctor do a Ct scan of your stomach to check for a stuck stone. It could be causing all of this. I know I went though this too.
Yes I went to my doctor. Doctor did blood work and a ct scan didn’t find anything.
I am thinking it might be wise to get a second opinion.
It took me over a year to feel better. It’s been over 2 years now and if I eat ANYTHING fried or oily, I will be throwing up. Not having a gallbladder, we cannot digest fats and it will be torture on us. Some never have a problem again others like myself always will. Take early in the morning Esomeprozle with magnesium in the morning, a good fiber at night, no fats and LOTS of water.
Go to another GI Specialist. Research for an exceptional GI Specialist first on the internet, checking Yelp, & other sites for good reviews. If this new GI Specialist can not get you in for an appointment immediately, ask for a nurse at their office to speak to and let her know the severity of your symptoms, as she may be able to get you in right away. If not, then go see your primary Doctor, and ask if he/or/she can get you in sooner to see the new GI Specialist you’ve picked out, as they have the ability to get you a priority appointment to have you seen immediately. Your Primary Doctor should support you in this, if not, also seek a new primary Doctor after this medical situation is more under control & you’re feeling up to this. The GI Doctor you are currently seeing is obviously missing something important,( this happens all too frequently, I guarantee you of this fact), or you would not be having these symptoms. If your symptoms are still now severe,( as you have stated here), you could try a different Hospital Emergency Room immediately, while you wait for the Appointment above. These symptoms you are experiencing are proof that something is wrong, as you already are quite aware of. I had my gall bladder removed 3 years ago, we all have our differing stories, I too have mine, but we can all agree that you need further assistance from a qualified Doctor, who will persist to find the appropriate answers in order that you get well, & unfortunately not all Doctors can do so, for whatever reasons. Blessings & Best wishes to you.
