I have been having bleeding hemorrhoids for a while on and off however I just got put on xeralto a blood thinner and now it got so much worse. Had a bad experience the other day in shop rite of all places. It really scare me the amount of blood. I have been doing sit baths hydrocortisone cream from Doctor but nothing really working. My gastric doctor just basically tells me to deal with it. He did give me the name of a recital surgent but explained a painful thing to address. Anyone going through this and have some suggestions?  Please help I am sick of this.

I have rectal bleeding also but in my case they dont know if its hemorrhoids because im losing to blood. I dont feel mine and i have them internal and external. But def consult the surgeon.

Dear Ann,

Sorry to hear about your condition. I havent gone through such a dreadful condition but can suggest a few things. Please try have six or seven round black peppers and have a spoon of olive oil last thing before going to bed. I have felt it stops bleeding. Try it for a couple of days and see if it helps.

Are you eating a high fibre diet and drinking plenty of water ? I think you should see the recital surgeon. Where are you ?

I recently had a haemorridectomy which is an operation to remove external haemorrhoids. 

You should definately speak to the surgeon and explain the discomfort its causing so it can be treated. This will be better for you long term as well.

I am late to reply, and I hope by now you have made medical appointments to help with your hems problem. Needing to take a blood thinner is something to factor into your overall picture.

If I am correct, it is true that Xeralto does not require you to have your blood coagulation factors monitored. Coumadin, an older blood thinner, does. Doctors like to prescribe newer blood thinners because they don't require patients to come in for blood checks. Patients like that, doctors do, too.

Taking blood thinner for what, why? If the GI doctor put you on Xarelto, the doctor should be concerned about bleeding as an indication from the blood thinner. If the GI doctor prescribed, do you have a primary care physician or nurse practitioner who will take all these factors into consideration and advise you? (hems bleeding, need for blood thinner)
