I have hems that slip out of my rectum when I have a BM. They will also come out when I stand. They go back in by themselves, and no pain, just bothersome. Do hems always hurt or is this unusual that they do not hurt ?
Hi rhonda47609,
To be honest it varies from person to person. Mine did that before I had rubber band ligation done and they were painful also. I worked 8 hr shifts and would stand all day and it was extremely painful. They started to bleed after a while of enduring this, so much that it soaked the back of my pants and ruined them. This happened two times. After the second time I had enough. I told my manager I could not work under those conditions and he completely understood. I could have endured the pain, but the bleeding is a serious problem if I lose too much blood. So that’s when I scheduled my bandings. Had three done. Fast forward to today and I am back working at the same place I was before. The thing is, I can still feel them after standing for a while and they are still slightly painful but they have not bled and the pain is nowhere near what it was before. I suspect the bandings shrunk them, and that they are smaller now. I’m going to speak with my doctor tomorrow morning and inquire about this. While I am grateful I can work again, I would like to get rid of them 100%. My suggestion to you is that maybe consider having the bandings done. It would be better to nip it in the bud before it becomes a real issue. Hope this helped!
