how long after the outbreak do the sores take to heal up?
mine took about 5 days to fully heal (i had one really bad one) once i started the antiviral medication
it can vary anything from a couple of days to 10 days
If your not taking anything after about 5-7 days it scab over pain will go away can take up to 15-20 days before the skin is completely normal looking again. You can shed HSV virus for sometime after so be very careful not to touch it spread it around. If I wash the area I put a latex glove on and throw it away afterwards. Years ago I spread it around because I was not careful if you touch it or scratch it then scratch in another part of your body it will spread.
