I have been reading a lot of threads on here and I’m here to tell my story so I can help others and also find help. This is a bit of a long story. About three weeks ago I started taking the antibiotic cephalexin, 3 times a day, for some staph infections I had on my leg that I got back in september but couldn’t figure out what was going on. I put mupirocin ointment on them, which is also an antibiotic. Those ended up healing up pretty quick before I had any symptoms of herpes. The antibiotics had me going poop 2 to 3 times a day, I usually go once a day. The stool was healthy though, not too hard or not too soft. I never pushed too hard but the toilet paper i was using was not special, not soft. I basically got very dry down there, but it wasn’t that bad until the last day of the 2 week period of antibiotics. That was friday when it got irritated, not itchy just pain passing stool and light bleeding from dry skin. I noticed on saturday I had bumps on the inside of my labia. Passing stool was extreme pain, peeing was okay. I got to the gyno as soon as possible on monday and they said genital herpes. They prescribed Valaciclovir and lidocaine mixed with vaseline on the bumps, which helps a lot and I put it on often. I’m completely on bed rest. I didn’t wanna eat at first but today I have more courage overall. Last time I passed stool was tuesday I was yelling and crying and almost fainted/threw up. I might have hemorrhoids, which I talked to my primary doc about and I’m also using the lidocaine there. the herpes also could’ve spread there but it doesn’t feel the same and the gyno didn’t say so. Was going number 2 with herpes horrible for anyone as well? What did you eat that made it easier? I was considering going on an only liquid diet but I’m not sure. Even farting hurts a lot. I’m taking lots of baths and drinking lots on water. Luckily, I have support from family and I’m doing better emotionally. I would love to hear tips, support, whatever.

have you actually been tested for herpes or did they just say visually? It sounds odd your first outbreak would just happen like this! Have you recently had unprotected sex or anything like this show up on your labia before. Herpes is misdiagnosed 20% of the time so if swabs havent been taken id ask for a second opinion as it could be linked and be something else. Do you have any pictures of the sores on your labia?
hello, thanks. i chose not to mention how i contracted it. but yes i did have unprotected sex a week before getting it. they took swabs and they are being tested.
