Hi I am female and had a fever as well as it burned when I peed so I went to the doctor and on symptoms alone diagnosed me with a UTI. The next day I had really heavy vaginal discharge and this has continued the past couple of days. (As well i am not sure but think i might have one sore on my upper ass...) Anyway, ive been taking uti antibiotics and the burning pee has gone away. The place i lives only does sti testing once every second week so its another week before i can see a doctor so was wondering if with herpes the burning pee for an initial outbreak would be healed as fast as a uti while taking antibiotics is. As well, when i initially went to the doctors i did do a urine sample and my urine was a dark coppery colour so they didnt bother testing it cause she said it looked like my pee would only be that colour from a urine infection. Would really appreciate if anyone could give me some insight as i wait another couple weeks to get results. Thank you

From my experience, during an outbreak, it burns when you urinate because of the urine passing over the open sores. Also, antibiotics won’t cure anything related to Herpes. Herpes is a virus whereas antibiotics is mainly for fighting bacteria. Hope this helps!

Hi Jade, you could have some burning or tingling on the skin before an outbreak but in your post you said it burned when you urinated. If your having some burning while urinating without any sores, you may have something else going on!
