I posted the other day to say i thought i could possibly have the herpes virus and i am just so confused! I know my partner and I both get cold sores and we both engage in oral sex which we did last Sunday and coincidently i started getting itchy and a bit sore down there on Tuesday, followed by my partner having a cold sore appear on his lip yesterday. The reason i am confused is that ive only been able to see one or two miniscule looking spots or blisters when using my phone light which dissapeared after a day. Now it has just been itchy and sore for days and doesnt seem to be going away. I should add i was tested for other stis which was negative and i also took an oral tablet for thrush incase it was this. My question is can you have a herpes outbreak with only the itching and soreness? and if so is it normal that it can last for days to a week?
yes. cold sores are HSV. usually HSV-1. My partner gets cold sores and i believe i now had a minor OB genitally and he only ever performed oral on me in a matter of several months with no cold sore present and hes only postivie for HSV-1 so its possible.

thanks for your reply. when you say minor did you have any itching like ive described? its so odd im almost positive it is hsv 1 but the symptoms just dont seem as bad as those that ive seen online.
