This morning I got a call that completely changed my life. I was told i’m positive for herpes. What started out as a simple tear from sex with my boyfriend turned into a disease i’ll never be able to get rid of. I started my dose of Valtrex (have taken 2 1gram pills) and i can’t stop crying. How am I supposed to live my life? The nurse who called me and told me I was positive didn’t give me ANY information! she said take these have a good day. I have so many questions! Do I have to be on pills the rest of my life? Should I change my diet? Am I still allowed to exercise? I’m in nursing school, I can’t limit stress! When can my boyfriend and I have sex again? How do I know when another outbreak is coming? He’s trying to get in the airforce. If I gave it to him will he not be able to get in? I just feel like my life is at a complete stand still and the only way I can do anything about it is if I end it. please help.
Hiya, I was the exact same as you when I found I have herpes type 2! Okay so, keeping your immune system up is key! When your immune system goes low that’s when you have breakouts! You will be on the tablets the rest of your life yes but you take them ONLY when you are going through a breakout! As for having sex, do not have sex when your having a break out, and make sure to always use a condom, there’s still always a risk of transmission but using a condom makes it very thin. You need to find out more from the clinic. Get a copy of your lab report. You haven't mentioned what type of test you did, how you scored, or even what HSV type you are said to have. A lot of your questions depend on your answers to these.
