Hi, I got diagnosed with herpes 5th November 2013 from a swab test on a single sore...... Since then I haven't had any further symptoms until 18th December 2013 when I started with swollen glands, aches, pains, fatigue, headaches, broke out in a rash on my chest, started with mouth ulcers and even throat ulcers and tongue sores...... I'm guessing this is signs of my first ever outbreak, but don't really know as I have never experienced anything like this before.... Hoping people may be able to give me an idea of what the outbreak was like for them and advise me if they had similar symptoms on their first outbreak....I have had a slight genital rash appear but nothing obvious..... Can anyone give me some insight please to the symptoms of their first outbreak and how long they had the symptoms for? It's been 10 days now since symptoms began and still I'm feeling poorly.... Kind regards.
Hi Sarah,
Can I clarify that you were diagnosed of Genital Herpes (Type 2) on the 5th November?
You say atm you have symptoms above your waste - If this is Herpes then this will be a different form - Type 1. you will need to be tested again to be sure, you may just have a nasty flu /cold tho.
Glands swollen below your waste(groin area), a sensation of tiredness being run down and almost like a sciatic pain down your legs are all signs of an OB of Type 2 (below waist / genital) herpes.
Should you be suffering a cold / flu this may be enough to bring about an OB below the waist.
Sorry I cannot advise regard the first outbreak of Type 1 (above waist) herpes. Apparently I have it (confirmed by blood test) but have never suffered it (guess my type 2 built enough immunity in my body to escape that one!)
Either way I'd get yourself to a doc or a GUM Clinic asap to be sure. One thing about Herpes the sooner you treat it correctly the quicker it goes away! take care x
Hi thank you for your comment, I was diagnosed with herpes type 1 on the 5th November but unfortunately it can unfortunately affect bout above and below waist problems I will be returning to the clinic soon discuss matters with them and see if it's worth me having tests done again ... Thanks for replying, take care x
