Hello I recently tested positive for igg 2 at a value of 1.11 very low positive. My recent partner tested negative. I did take a blood test but Is there any way this could be a false positive?
yes, it’s possible anything below a 3.5 could be a false positive! ideally a western blot test should be used for confirmation but it’s very expensive.
Do you think I should worry with such a low positive?
it’s your call, really. have you ever had any symptoms? if not, it could very well be a false positive. for a conclusive result you could get a western blot done. if you google westover heights clinic they have a herpes expert on their forum that can order it for you. maybe talk it over with your partner?
