hi all! i had what looked like an ingrown hair last week on Thursday or Friday. i could see the hair in there so wasnt too worried. however on friday and saturday it got so large and so painful. it was like a rock was under my skin or like a big frozen pea under the skin. it developed a head and popped Sunday, exposing the hair and leaving a large crater. the level of pain + the crater now and oozing when the hair came out is making me worried its herpes? but the fact that the area around it is hard and raised (still is) makes me doubtful. what do you all think? photos from right after the hair was exposed and from now (two days later). it does not hurt much anymore unless i put a lot of pressure on it.

Don’t think you have anything to worry about. Looks like an infection resulting from an ingrown hair.
looks like an infected hair follicle. Don’t keep a bandage on it all day, let the air get to it.
