I’ve just took medication for herpes, as I had my first outbreak after unprotected sex over two weeks ago. Is this an ingrown hair or herpes. It looks both like the beginning of my first herpes outbreak and an ingrown hair. Just need a bit of advice. Also, I hope it isn’t because I cannot bare to take any more medication as I am really really ill from it.

i thought the same, but i woke up this morning to another outbreak with that exact spot ! devastated
This is what it looks like today. It’s clear that this is another outbreak and it will turn into another ulcerated sure. It’s a shame that this has happened again, especially when I am on medication to prevent this. However, I will give the doctors a call and let them know it has happened again.

I will have to go back to the clinic. I have no medication left either which is a shame, I think I will more than likely,m eventually go on the suppression medication too. Efficaciously, I am no longer suicidal about this, and I know there is something to help me control it.

This looks like a ingrown hair follicle. (Note the hair in the middle. Herpes usually are clusters of clear blister like formation. Pimples are very common in the groin,pubic area especially if shaving
I’ve been shaving for around 8 years now and I do get ingrown hairs, I just have never had one which ulcerates and seeps fluid, like this sore and my previous sore. Though it looks like an ingrown hair on the initial upload, it had developed into a blister which is unfortunate. I still have hope that this too, is an ingrown hair, so I don’t have to be put on that medication. I’m still hoping all of my sores aren’t herpes! But we can only wait !
also bear mind,i see to cluster like formation. its one. and it has a hair follicle. As i understand, hvs doesn’t. look up folliculitis
