Herpes or not

For several months now I've had chronic itching and sores around my groin/ testicles sometimes penis. Initially my g.p thought it was herpes but the treatment of timodine and aciclovir didn't help too much a few months later he reviewed it and said it

Looked more like a fungal infection . A slightly tanned area with sores in the folds there is some spots but looks a bit like times critics my main symptom being severe itchyness. I'll be going to my local sexual health clinic once my prescription is finished just wanted some opinions on what people thought it may be ?

If you've had them continuously, that doesn't sound like Herpes. Herpes outbreaks last a couple of weeks then heal. Then weeks later you might get another outbreak, but they wouldn't be continuous.

So I would say not Herpes, but what it is I dont know.

YeH I did think that but then I already have a weak immune system anyway and have heard some people do have it chronically and are long term antiviral s, think realistically I'll just have to go to the clinic once I've finished my prescription of anti fungals in a week , thanks for response.
