So about 3 months ago, I had a unprotected one night stand sex. The very next day, I started feeling a weird tingling, slight burning inside my penis (towards the tip). Went to the doctor, they thought it might be chlamydia or gonorrhea, those tests came back negative. Doctor recommended I see a urologist. So I schedule an appointment with one, which wasn't able to see me for a few weeks. Being impatient, I had a complete std check done in the meantime. It came back positive for HSV-1. Went to see the urologist and he told me he doesn't think it's herpes and that I probably already had the HSV-1 and in his words told me "You don't have an std, lot's of people have HSV-1" and thought it was probably some bacterial infection. Did a culture test on my urine and it came back negative for any bacteria. Next step is to have a Cystoscopy, which is having a camera look into my urethra. So my question is, is this actually genital herpes (hsv-1)? Or could it is still be something else? I've had a constant slight burning since I was exposed, which is about almost 3 months ago now, but haven't had any blisters or anything.
