Herpes outbreak

HELP?!! I had a yeast infection last week which turned in an outbreak on Friday. Every day seems to be more painful and there are sores everywhere. I can hardly walk. I started using tea tree and it made everything do dry that any time I made a movement the sores would crack open causing unbearable pain. I'm at a loss right now. I can't stand the pain and they aren't going away. And to top it all off I got my period yesterday. It absolutely kills to put a tampon in because the sores are all over down there. I've been using neosporin because it's the only thing to keep it from cracking every time I move. Please if you have any suggestions let me know. I'm going on day 4 and I'm about to lose my mind.

I would suggest soaking in a tub of warm water and epsom salt. Also, lidocaine cream. This should help immensely with the pain. Aloe Vera with lidocaine could also work. Help moisturize and reduce pain with the lidocaine.

If skip tampons and use the Always Foam flex pads. They are softer and less irritating.

Good luck! I'll be thinking of you, I can only imagine how much pain you're in.

Hi there-

I was in the exact same place as you this past November, one of the hardest 1.5-2 weeks of my life. I also got my period towards the end. I would suggest going to the gyno who diagnosed you and asking for lidocaine jelly. It's a small tube of numbing cream that really helped me in the early stages when the sores were at their peak and you can only get it from the doctor. Everytime you're about to go to the bathroom, get a q-tip and put some lido-jelly on all the sores, wait 10 seconds and go to the bathroom and such. When you pee, I found it helpful to get a warm tub of clean drinking water to pour down that area as I pee to neutralize the acidity (as TMI as that sounds). As for the tampon situation, only start using tampons again when you feel the sores going away because it will hurt both putting it in and taking it out.

Are you on valtrex medication? 4-5 days of Valtrex will relieve some of the symptoms if not all and for me, I kept taking Valtrex for a week and a half and while the sores were healing, they were still tender, but putting a tampon in wasn't too bad.
