Herpes risk?

Herpes risk?

21 yo F here. I had unprotected sex twice in one week December 2020. I’ve been struggling with how stupid I was, because I wanted to say no in the first place, and if I just had of spoken up I wouldn’t be here. I’m also with an amazing guy now, who was a virgin before me, so that makes me feel worse. But I was diagnosed with ureaplasma and chlamydia mid July, and have been treated. I was tested for everything else (negative) except herpes because I have not been symptomatic. I do have my first Pap smear in two weeks and I’m nervous. I know I’ve been frantically paranoid googling, but I’m just wondering if anyone can offer solace about the chance I have Hsv2. The previous partner said he does not have it, but I know that he could be asymptotic and just not know. He did not have any visible lesions when we had sex, and he said he had 7 previous partners before me, which most he has used protection with. So I’m just wondering if the chances or high or low. I know even the Igg test has the possibility of false positives and they don’t recommend getting tested without symptoms. If anyone could help and offer opinions that would be great. I do plan on discussing all of this with my doctor when I get my Pap done, which I’m praying comes out normal! Fingers crossed

Calm down! Unprotected sex is always a risk but no need to obsess about it. Transmission when assymptomatic are lower and not everyone has herpes… This is a risk you might take again everytime you have a new partner or relationship. Get tested annually, get vaccinated for VPH and stay vigilant. Pap test test prevent almost all cervical cancer.

In my country it’s almost impossible to get blood test for HSV unless your partner is officialy diagnosed or if you had a breakout. We just learn to live with the risk and take necessary protection.

You met someone amazing and seems all clear… just enjoy your relationship stress free.
