i've ordered one to try and get to the bottom of whats going on. but how accurate are they? i heard 1 in 4 are false negative and 1 in 9 are false positive. also some say 80% of people have HSV1 but dont know it/are symptomless. does that mean 80% of people that take the blood test would potentially be positive? i fear i got it from oral sex, but im worried if i do the test and i have an 80% chance of being positive for HSV1, then ill wrongfully link it to my penis disorder, thus causing unnecessary worry! but at the same time i hate not knowing! :(
most people have hsv1 but they can never have a cold sore some people dont even know they have it i have hsv1 and get breakouts when im ill or run down its hsv2 that cause genital herpes which is sexually transmitted thus causing blisters on the genitals not sure how reliable to home test kits are but id see your doctor if your concerned that u have genital herpes
i did a home kit after i was diagnosed as i was in so much denial. i did it about 3-4 weeks after my outbreak and came back positive for hsv2
