I noticed these last week after I had thrush. At first I assumed I just hurt myself because I was scratching a lot (I know you're not meant to itch thrush but I couldn't help it!) but now I think it might actually be something seriously wrong.
Some background info:
• Had sex for the first time in 2+ years, 3 months ago. No other symptoms or issues until this.
• I've gotten cold sores on my lips since I was younger, but haven't had a breakout in 8 months.
• I take lysine pills (1000mg) to help the cold sores I do get when I get them.
I've exhausted myself googling what it could be -- I automatically thought herpes but it just doesn't look like anything I saw in my searches. Also no tingling, lumps etc. like I get with cold sores, just raw skin that is *excruciating* to touch, pee, wipe, even just move sometimes. So now I'm worried it's something much worse.
I described my symptoms to my doctor who doesn't seem to think this is anything serious, meaning I can't an appointment for 2 weeks. I'm really embarrassed having to post here like this but I don't know what else to do cause the stress is keeping me up & the pain is really hurting.

It does look like HSV.
