Hi everyone, 5 days ago I started feeling an itch near my groin area which later stinging and stabbing pain. It looks like small blisters with grey discoloration at the top. It’s between my anus and my vagina to the left side but closer to my anus. I should add that during this period the left side of my thighs, butt and side felt sensitive and tender. I told my doc this but she felt since it’s located close to my vagina, it’s probably herpes. I haven’t has sex in over a year and a half but apparently late onset is a thing… what do you guys think? The grey discoloration is what throws us off. Doesn’t look typical of shingles or herpes. Here’s a NSFW photo of it… appreciate some feedback. I feel like my life will be over if it’s herpes…
I honestly don’t have much to say about the appearance of it. Literally the ONLY way to know if it’s herpes is to test and the most accurate way to test it is swabbing. Your doctor should know this and should be doing it. If she isn’t, get to another doctor or even a clinic as soon as possible for the most accurate test results. As for your life being over if it’s herpes- it isn’t. Herpes is fairly common and, despite the way people talk about it, transmission rates are not incredibly high especially if you take a daily antiviral. Roughly 80% of the population has HSV1-- think the kind that causes oral cold sores-- and that can even crop up genitally. I personally have HSV1 on my vagina because it was transmitted via oral sex. You will survive, you will move on, and it will not end your life.
