Herpes?

Help! I'm married and have been with my husband for 3 years. I just gave birth to our son 6 weeks ago and have been wearing a pad since then. (Changing every few hours). I had postpartum bleeding for 5 weeks and then I started my period. Me and my husband had sex last week and since then I've noticed these bumps that I thought were just razor bumps but today I noticed they look like open sores/ulcers. They're mostly located in my bikini line, where the pad would rub and chafe. There's one big one in the hairs of my vagina. I would post a picture but it's not letting Me. Any advice? I have a doctors appointment Tuesday but I need something to give me peace of mind.

Is it painful? Lymph nodes hurting? Any other symptoms aside from the bumps themselves?

Yes they're super itchy. When I scratched them, it made them super sore. (Dumb idea I know, but I wasn't considering herpes). I've been 100% faithful to my husband and I don't think he'd cheat but I don't know. I'm very concerned.

Mm. I'm not sure if it's herpes from my experience. Mines hurt like hell and they were spreading day by day. I didn't experience itching until they began to heal. With that said until you're sure don't scratch or bother them.

Do you think it's possible that a pad can cause open sores? I have been wearing them for a long time.

If you gave me your email, I could send pics to you. I just want to feel peace of mind lol

I don't wear pads anymore but when I did, I'd get super itchy especially after shaving or while the hair was growing in. Def get it checked by a doctor cause everyone is different when it comes to outbreaks. Mine was a few tiny lesions that only hurt when I pee and they didn't spread or get worse. My sisters first outbreak was unbearable and spread very quickly and she could barely walk.

I wish I could post the pics I took!

I think you only can if you're on a computer, not phone

Just relax. It could literally be anything, especially since you only recently gave birth (congratulations, btw!) and your body/hormones are probably all over the place right now.

I wouldn't worry about it until your appointment. Insist on an HSV lesion swab if that will bring peace of mind. In the meantime, don't touch the area too much and wash your hands afterwards, just in case. Best to probably avoid sex, too.

Fyi, first outbreaks *usually* occur in the actual vaginal area, so vulva, perineum and labia, not bikini line. Of course, there are exceptions, but just saying in case that helps!
