recently had unprotected sex on january 26th with someone and i noticed no symptoms. then on february 10th i had unprotected sex with someone else and then on feb 19th i also had unprotected sex with the same person from the 10th. i noticed that on monday feb 25th i had symptoms and bump appeared. is it herpes? what date seems more likely id had gotten it? please help!
it looks like more of a whitehead pimple than a herpe. but if that is one of the symptoms i would go your doctor asap and ask them to swab test it. but it looks harmless to me. (i am not an expert, dont take my word for it)
thats what i thought at first too but then another one popped up next to it, looks the same too. im getting my blood drawn and tested. im hoping and praying it isnt herpes :( i want to have kids normally :(
heres another image
fingers crossed. honestly if this were herpes I feel like it would be much worse if it was an initial outbreak. if you shaved it could be an infected hair follicle from bacteria. I would recommend a swab instead of a blood test.
Herpes can lie dormant for years or show up within weeks, you can't pinpoint when you got the virus. I am not a professional, however, I do recommend getting the sores tested. Wait for it to heal before you become sexually active again. If you have another sore appear, try to get into a doctor for a culture within the first two days of its appearance. This is important, the sooner the more accurate the test results.
To me, again not a professional, it looks like an ingrown hair.
thats why i have hope because i think an first outbreak would be worse as well. only reason im a little scared is because a smaller looking one appeared next to it and its been on me for a week now and im also very paranoid :/
im getting my blood tested and results should be in a few days, im hoping its an infected ingrown hair due to shaving :( im just very scared right now. if i do have it, any recommendations on how i should ask the person who infected me?
It's hard to know who actually infected you, if it is even herpes!
I wouldn't stress about it, the statistics are 1 in 5 people have genital herpes. There are ways you can suppress and manage outbreaks. Its not the end of the world! :)
If you can, skip the medical doctor and go to a specialist. A dermatologist will know better. I have had too many opinions and results. They can perform a biopsy.
Honestly, I really don't think its herpes!
this is an update version, there is two now and it looks like it scabbed over? any thoughts ? :(
That is almost certainly herpes. That said, don't panic, herpes is incredibly common. A couple of things to note, this actually does not really look like a new herpes infection. When people refer to a "primary outbreak" they're referring to a very specific, bad, extensive outbreak that sometimes happens upon infection. For others, they acquire the infection, their body handles it well, and they may never have a true "primary outbreak" (or may never have an outbreak ever!) but rather they have these mild outbreaks later on down the line. That is one possibility here, as outbreaks beyond the primary are unilateral (appearing only on one side of your body), and from what we can see it looks like it may only be on one side for you.
With all of that said, with the timeline you describe, there's no way to tell which partner you acquired it from, if either. If you have truly just been infected, you could have gotten it from either, and the downside is that if you did get it from guy #2, with the timeline it could have been spread to guy #1, so you should definitely give them both a heads up.
If you were just infected, your blood work will be of no help. Herpes blood tests look for antibodies to the virus, not the virus itself, and your body needs 12-16 weeks for antibodies to build up, so newly affected people will have negative blood tests. If it comes out positive, then you've already had herpes for at least a couple of months. If you do proceed with a blood test, make sure it is an IgG test, NOT an IgM test. The IgM is incredibly outdated and is not an accurate test for herpes in adults. But once again, you really can't count on negative blood work in this scenario to mean you don't have herpes. The best course of action is to get this swabbed - today! Since you have a blister that hasn't ruptured yet, that's the ideal situation for getting a swab to ensure fresh fluid is tested. Make sure that they type the results (HSV1 vs HSV2), as that will help you when it comes to future disclosures. Most of the entire world already has HSV-1 orally, so they're at no risk of acquiring it genitally. HSV-2, which is a bit more contagious genitally, is still manageable and you can have an active, fulfilling, regular sex life with herpes, so take a deep breath and realize that herpes is no big deal, you will be fine! Please come back and update us when you have your results, and again, demand a swab test alongside the blood work. Best of luck!
Just replied to you in more detail, but this is a very, very, VERY classic presentation of herpes.
thank you for taking the time to inform me, I'm very sad that this happened and it will probably take some time for me to come to terms with it. im hoping by chance its something else because im usually very safe during sex but of course the few times i think im safe, im not. thank you again, i will post results as soon as i get them!
i remembered something, he also had gotten semen on my face and in my eye. im so scared will i get it there too?
Don't beat yourself up, a VIRGIN can acquire herpes from another virgin that has HSV-1 orally from childhood and passed it on through oral sex. Of course being sexually responsible is important, but your herpes status doesn't say anything at all negative about you. I promise you will be absolutely fine!
no it's skin to skin. it needs to be massaged into the skin. you'll be ok
thank you so much, you are very kind
thank you :)
its now looking like this? i go to the gyno tomorrow but i just need peoples opinions it makes me feel better
Ditto to what Regret replied. But not only that, herpes is an infectious disease of the skin, it is not even in semen, so you're good there. Do you recall if you've ever had a cold sore?
