is this herpetic whitlow? or something else?

is it painful? or weeping. usually a whitlow will start along side the nails were the softer tissue is.
It isn’t painful on it’s own, and only slightly when pressed. Also there is absolutely no weeping. I was just diagnosed with HSV yesterday (awaiting culture results from genital sore swabs to know the type) so I’m just really on edge after that. I called my doctor with my suspicions and she said all she would do if it was a whitlow, would be to put me on Valtrax, which I started yesterday anyways. For now, I’m keeping an eye on it and covering it with a band-aid.
