Hey, I started taking Citalopram a week ago today, and have felt terrible all week! But I can also feel a difference it is making, I made myself go out at the weekend with my best friends, and had the best night I have had in ages, and I didn't need alcohol, which is very weird for me, as I am a very shy person.
But the side effects are terrible, I haven't really been able to eat all week, as I have felt to sick, which is a good thing as I might lose some weight (bit concerned about the comments about putting on weight, as I really don't need to do that!) but it also means that I am really weak from the lack of food... I also feel really dizzy and my jaw feels really weird, like when I yawn, it feels like it doesn't go back into place properly... don't know if that makes sense! I am also really really tired, to the point where I can't keep my eyes open, but then when I try and sleep I can't!
Anyway I hope the side effects stop soon, and I can start to feel normal for once!
Good luck to everyone!

I've been on the tablets for two weeks now and I've got to say from today I am feeling good. The yawning has finally stopped and I've stopped feeling sick. The only thing is I haven't got a great appetite like before. I am naturally slim and am awfully worried about weight gain and hope it doesn't happen to me. I'm hoping things get better, I;m a lot calmer and feel so happy with the sunny weather.
I hope you feel better soon.

Hi
I feel exactly the same. For a week on this drug. Not very sure I needed it from the first place however couldn't cope without an external help and this was what I had been offered. The side effects like feeling sick and dizzy seem to be gone but I still feel very tired and distant to the world. And I got a sudden panic attack at work which didnt happen before!
And I dont eat as well, lost some weight but worried about putting on later after having read what other people experienced.
Would you like to get in touch and tell how you feel? Would be nice to have a Citalopram buddy
Cheers Ania

Hi, Lucy!
I have been on Citalopram for a week and I'm feeling all the same side effcets, especially I haven't slept for nights...
It's reassuring that this is not weird and it seems to be just a side effect.
Much good luck!
Catalin
