I have heard this virtually word for word
Yes, word for word nearly, except he also said... surprisingly good for a woman!
yeh that's exactly what the docs say, followed by being gobsmacked that we aren't jumping for joy grrrrr
LOL!!!!!!
I wish doctors were empaths so they felt the symptoms and discomfort of their patients as soon as the door was closed. (and it went away again once the patient left of course - wouldn't wish this monster on anyone)
know those words only tooooo wellllll had that said to me soooooooo many timesggggrrrrrrr
Lol....but so true ! x
I had one male specialist who told me, it is all in your head. I was so angry, when he saw that, he tried to recant. Luckily I now have a great specialist, who knows what he is doing.
It's such a relief when someone finally believes in you isn't it.
I actually began to believe it was all in my head when the first two doctors called it depression and told me to take paracetamol for the pain.
I've suffered with depression on and off for years but the tiredness itself was different and I'd never suffered pain all over my body....I knew something was wrong and it must have been 3rd time lucky as the doctor I now see ordered blood tests (all normal obviously) and a referral to the sleep clinic but diagnosed Fibro before the sleep study.
She didn't fob me off with 'take paracetamol' and I am now waiting for an appointment with the rheumatologist and the results of the sleep study - which has been indicated on the discharge form that I also have OSAHS.
I have been lucky to get to get a diagnosis so quickly, (although a year is still a long time when you're trying to live your life as best you can through such a nightmare) as trying to get a doctor/specialist to actually look deeper than the obvious reasons is bloody hard work .
It surely is a relief, let's hope they come up with a treatment regime that helps you.
It is frustrating (but also good news), when all your tests come normal but you know there is something wrong. Such is the weird nature of this illness.
Best of luck.
Meg

I must say I have grown pretty addicted to this forum.
