Hi
8 years ago I had PCOS and was on Clomid trying to get pregnant. Eventually it happened, and that pregnancy is called Danny and is a gorgeous 7 year old boy now.
I lost 2 stone whilst pregnant:D 2 years later I became pregnant again just as I was waiting to back on clomid so I presume Danny did some maintenance work while he was in there. Now 5 years after Joe was born I am heavier than I have ever been and am struggling to loose weight. I get dizzy and feel like I am going to feint if I dont eat regularly and have a terrible sweet tooth, I feel I need chocolate not want it. I also have cramping pains (I call them pooh pains!) just before I need a pooh or pass wind which double me over, I was told it was irritable bowl but until today didnt realise that thats all part of it. Also at a mere 37 years of age I have spots, never had them before but a batch arrive before the previously squeezed ones heal and go. Have greasy hair and skin and a few very strange hairs growing in very strange places. My periods are roughly every 6 weeks now but are so heavy for 4 days that I dare not go out too far.
My main problem is WEIGHT. I stuck to you are what you eat diet religiously for 2 months and only lost 4lbs which makes me thuink that all those beans and pulses don't work for us. :shock:The atkins worked really well for me but as soon as I came off it the weight piled back on and I dont think it is a good idea to stay on it indefinatly, metformin hasnt worked so now I will take advice from above and try evening primrose, fruit and veg and fibre and low Gi foods banning high GI foods. fingers crossed:roll: we will see.
If anyone fancies getting together to loose weight we could all keep each other going by email, just reply to this and I will add you to a email group and we can all be skinny PCOS sufferers......eventually.
Good luck with it all. Its so nice to know I'm not on my own.
Julia:cheers:
