one went back in under sedation, the other had to be reinserted under general anaesthetic, my question is about the pain I should expect the one put back under GA doesn't hurt at all, the other is extremely painful, has anyone had pain after dislocation ???
Omg how did both dislocate???π±π±π±
Oh, you poor soul. When you do something, you really do it up well......lol All my best to you my dear. Speedy recovery!
Yeah unfortunately both, gutted !!!!! It's apparently unheard of but I'm concerned about the pain in the left leg, I've had them ten years it's never happened before π³
Many thanks, hoping I won't be long before I feeling better π₯
I Overextended, I was out at a friends, I was driving and friends were drinking, I bent over to put a coat on one of my dogs and overextended I had boots on so bent further than I normally would, it was more like a yoga posture completely my fault, but trust me not something I ever want to repeat, xx
Horrific!! Don't think I'll ever forget that, so easy to pop outπ±π±π±π±what nightmares are made of!!
Wish you well!!
Xx
Many thanks x
Oh my worst nightmare, dislocation. I really feel for you. 10 years post op I thought hippies would be able to bend into the same positions as a natural hip would allow.
Have you got some really strong painkillers to help with pain in left leg? How long before you are back to 'normal'?
Hope you get comfortable soon.

I have painkillers, but not sure how long I'll be in pain, I didn't expect to be in such discomfort,
Many thanks for good wishes
What a terrible thing to have happened to you! That must be so worrying, having that extreme pain on the one side. I would check with my doctor if I were you. You said that you overextended bending down to put a coat on your dog. Have you never bent down that far before? I bend down completely every day to tie my boots while standing up, not sitting down, without much knee bend. Was your movement like that?
Hi c ,
wow .... the thing we are most afraid of ... and both !!!
Interesting that the one put back under GA does not hurt - I would go back to surgeon - maybe it is not in place yet ????
how did it feel when they got dislocated? popped out?
Scary but good reminder for all of us who are so eager to put socks on, cut and polish toenails, crouch etc ...
big warm hug and welcome to our forum

Hi no I'm like you bend freely everyday, I think I just went too far with straight legs one of my Jack Russell's is tiny & I was reaching down under her tummy but also had boots on so I was stretching even further, more like the yoga posture downward dog.
if it doesn't start to ease by tomorrow I will ring the doctors.
Yes if it doesn't ease a bit by the morning I will go to back, when they dislocated they just don't belong to you, I was still stood up but darn't or could'nt move ( this was because they'd both come out, although at this time I did'nt know for certain they both had) my friends laid me on the floor,
It's certainly uncomfortable and the longer their out the more uncomfortable it becomes
Oh my god you poor thing. Your post was literally heart stopping. How is your sore hip today? Is it any better? You have dealt with the whole thing so cheerfully! I think I would be going mental I hope you are okay - keep us posted - big hugs for being so incredibly brave!
Hi yes it's still sharp pain & sore but I will contact hospital or GP in the morning if it's worse or there's no improvement. Many Thanks, I feel such a plonker π
Oh My! I look forward to hearing how you are doing and what the doctor may have said if you felt the need to call. I think about dislocation all the time and am nearly 11 months post op. Today I caught myself bending straight down to the floor to clean it and it took me a few seconds to be able to return to standing because of mild muscle spasms in both legs, so I decided that from now on I will bend my knees outward like a frog and do squats.. Less chance of dislocation and it does not hurt and it is a good strengthening exercise.
Please let us know how you are getting on.
Hugs

It is so good to know that going too far with the stretching down can cause a dislocation. I am sure we all will be careful about that in future. Hope your pain eases very quickly!
