Does anyone that has shingles get very bad vertigo before during and after rash once the blisters have gone the vertigo seems to go this bout odd shingles is a real bad one pain lasting ages rash not turned to blisters and vertigo
I did not get vertigo but, I have had itchiness where I had the rash. Thank God no pain but, the shingles I had where by my buttocks and my waist and I had lots of unbearable pain. I hope you get better soon and have you asked your Dr? I googled the sight for shingles and never heard of anyone getting vertigo.

I get vertigo throughout, pre, during, and post-eruption. I get shingles in my right ear, and the vertigo markedly affects my balance. I have had Herpes Zoster-Shingles in my right ear every three to five weeks for the past twenty-one years and twice in my right eye...
In fact, I can tell I am getting Herpes Zoster-Shingles by when the vertigo starts again.
Where is the pain and rash located for you?

My rash is my back side and belly I used to get vertigo when I was getting a cold sore same virus as shingles but this timemail nothing on my mouth just my bavk side and belly

The Herpes virus is circulating throughout your body, and in your central nervous system and fluid. I do not know if you are prone to motion sickness and / or migraines, but some individuals, me included, are more apt to experience vertigo when they are ill with a virus infection. The Herpes varicella virus is a nasty virus and can wreak havok on your body. The vertigo I experience makes sense, as the rash and severe pain is in my ear. I do know the virus is found in people's tears and lymphatics and blood. The pre-eruptive symptoms are similar to the flu, so it shows the virus travels everywhere.

Has your physician prescribed Meclizine, Dramamine, or Phenergan for you? I do not know in which country you live, but I would ask your physician for a prescription for one of these to help with the vertigo. I would suggest a visit to an ENT specialist, as well.
