Hi I have been in menopause for 9 years I am 57

I was on Estradot 50 then 75 then 100 and after a year on the Estradot 100 it wasn't working anymore so I asked my doctor to switch me to the pill  form of Estradiol 1.5 mgs I have been on them for 2 1/2 weeks and  seem to be getting worse . Lots  of hot flashes migraines and lightheadedness  and  anxiety more then on the patch .  How long do you think it's going to take for the pill to adjust to my system .  Or should I seen the effects already if it was going to work

If you're getting worse rather than better, the pill is not working. I took it and within a week my hormones were calm and I was up and functioning by 2 weeks when my hormones were completely in control. Sorry but you need to find something else. Have you tried HRT?

May I ask, if you're in menopause why are you still on pills?

I have tried the patch and the gel and  nothing  seems to work for very long and all my  symptoms like  dizziness ,  anxiety , lack of  Energy and tired all the time come back and it is hard to  function . I was hoping that this would work and was just worrying how long it would take before I would know if it was working but I have been having hot flashes and  migraines almost since I started Estradiol . I had a  hysterectomy at 35 but still have my ovaries I started all those problems 9 years ago I just want to feel good again 😔

Sorry you're going through such a difficult time. But you need to get off the estradiol, especially if it's giving you migraines. I don't know about the gel or the patch, I tried HRT using pills they made my symptoms worse so I was given Estradiol which was great. There are a dozen or so birth control pills and you need to find one that has just the right about of estrogen to progesterone levels to calm your symptoms. All I can say is that you're going to have to work with your doctor on finding the right one. Hope you find relief soon. xx

oops: not about but amount

Thanks but I have been. I think I have used so many different things pills .patches and gels and nothing works for long I was so hoping that Estradiol would be the one
